We are a gathering of imperfect people, saved by grace, who have a desire to worship the triune God sincerely and to make His name known. Our worship seeks to be simple, reverent and biblical. Our preaching of the Bible seeks to be expository, practical and Christ-centred. Our fellowship seeks to strengthen, encourage, and pray for one another. Our fellowship seeks to strengthen and encourage one another in the things of God.
The Bible is central in our worship. We read from it (usually two portions), we preach from it, and we sing from it. We seek to apply the regulative principle of worship - to do what is clearly commanded - and to exclude what is not commanded. We are a Psalm Singing Church exclusively because they are the only inspired volume of praise that speak prophetically of Christ, and are, we believe, the only divinely appointed songs to be sung in public worship. We sing a cappella (without musical accompaniment) as the New Testament church did and as the church throughout most of its history has done. We adhere to the historic Christian faith as summarised in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Both congregations in Narre Warren and Carrum Downs belong to the Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australian (PCEA). For more information about the denomination, please click the link below.
